I want to have one of the blocks on my homepage disappear after a member logs in.
I was wondering if anyone has done this or knows how to.

hey fleatrax, what i would presume is that you can do this in builders, since you can allow blocks accessible to members |guests | admin and such, maybe only tick the box so that guests can view it, otherwise this would require a touch of some code manipulation. LOL that is sooooo simple....Its like the story of the truck that got stuck going under a bridge. All the experts standing aroudn trying to figure out how to get the truck out without damgaing the bridge... When a child suggests. "why not let the air out of the tires" Thanks |
not sure if that worked for you or not, but i gotta chuckle from your response. you are right, sometimes, and i am including me in this for sure, we anticipate something being complex, and all the while, we are ignoring simplicity for complexity. i personally cannot deal with simplicity, the more complex something is, the more comfortable i am dealing with it, when its simple, it just kills me. yeah that response gave me a smile as well.. https://dolphin-techs.com - Skype: Dolphin Techs |
Just to follow up This did work for me. I created a welcome block for non members and a different block for things I want to draw members attention to. Thanks again... ps I know what you mean about simple....It seems these days I am always looking for a complex and expensive solution. |
good deal, may i hustle a point vote out of you since this appears to be the first answer in a long time, that actually helped somebody and they came back and replied. sometimes, as we peruse the forums, reading the technical support related questions, i sit baffled, wondering how many answers actually were on the money, and rectified the situation. i know one thing for sure, if you give a bad answer, you are sure to hear about it. Noone ever said Dosdawg was modest, but he did earn the point on this one. |
