[Question/Enhancement] Subscribing to blogs

In Dolphin there is an option to subscribe to a blog post, but not to an entire blog. It seems a little odd, as a blog post is not something which is commonly changed (and most users don't really care if it does), but it is quite reasonable to want to subscribe to the entire blog of an interesting person, so you get notified when they post a new blog entry.

I'm afraid many of my users are going to think they do just that, when in fact they only subscribe to a single post.

Do I miss any reason behind it?

No, you probably would want to be kept updated on any new blog posts so that seems like a good idea.  I suppose one could use the RSS feed; but that means getting new posts in your feed reader.  I would still want to see the feed button.  However, some might want to get a notice through the site's notification system when a post has been added to the blog.

Question: If I subscribe to a blog post, does it update the person when new comments have been added?  If so, then the subscribe to the post is useful as some want to be kept updated when new comments have been added to a post.

Good point, geek_girl. Actually, tested after your question, it seems that subscribing to a post gets you notified by mail when the post is commented upon. You do not get notified if the post itself changes.

I agree that getting notified for comments may be useful by itself. I think subscribing to an entire blog should be an added option, not a replacement to subscribing to a single post.
