1. I have a new template that the client I am designing for purchased. What are the procedures for loading that template and then getting into to edit the template to fit the needs of the client?
2. Client wants to customize the tabs on the main page, where is that accessed and changed. I went through the Cpanel and saw how to delete them, but did not see how to edit them and change what each tab says and does.

1) Read the template docs. http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolDesign
2) What tabs???? are you refering to the main menu? Please be more specific. Exact page and exactly what on that page you are looking at.

Thanks for the lead to the template information.
As for the other what we want to change is the home page tabs. They are currently;
People, Forums, Tags, and so on. We want them changed to Find a Place to go, Blogs, About Us, and then have subpages of Written, Video, Why join, and Suggestions. And I want to be able to customize the content on those pages too.

Thats the main menu.
You will find it in admin under builders. It's the menu builder.
The page builder for making changes to page content and creating new pages is in there also.

I got the template loaded and installed, thanks for those tips. I am not used to working in CPanel and this type of site. I do HTML and CSS and then just FTP it all up.
I am unsure where to find the admin panel to make the other changes. If I go to the site's url and login as the admin, I am not seeing it in the tabs or options. Is this also done from CPanel on the server, or am I just missing this somewhere. Sorry it has been a long day, so I just might be overlooking it.
Thanks Again!!

Ok made it to the login for admin, I think this is it; http://nightlifesos.com/dolph/index.php/admin thanks to a little Google help, but I still do not see the darn admin console here and I am logged into the account as the only person that can login to it. Chris Lowe |
If this is dolphin 7 then http://www.yoursite.com/administration/
And as for the cpanel. You can upload with ftp as well. I never use cpanel to edit stuff. Always edit local copy and upload via ftp.

Ok sometimes things are right in front of you and you still do not see them. I saw that the admin controls were next to the login name, and that must have been an old version of Dolphon. Now it looks like they were on the bottom of the page. But hey I am in now and thanks for the help with all of this earlier!

I do appreciate the help on this. It looks like you have been in the forum for a while and that is always good. i work in RapidWeaver and Shopify and we have great forums for help for everyone too.
Do you know of any good video tutorials for version 7 for page layout, adding menus, and content in the forum on on outside sites?
