7.0.3 Video still loading first

Video is still not starting to play before loading entire video!

Otherwise site is doing well. Although I also get:

Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when safe_mode is enabled or an open_basedir is set in/home/xxxx/public_html/sexy/inc/utils.inc.php on line 930

Safe_mode is disabled and where to set open_basedir I couldn"t find.

I confer, they do not start until it is downloaded, and you get no status of it..

I could understand the buffer bar loading but we don't even get that.

Only newly uploaded videos will be buffering. Videos uploaded during the time 7.0.2 were running stay intact.

Regarding the warning:

Try to comment out the following line in inc/utils.inc.php file:

curl_setopt($rConnect, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);

meaning what? that they will only play after fully loaded, and new videos upload to 7.0.3 will buffer after encode?

I'm going to upload a new video to the testing server I'm running now and see what happens after processing...

Basically:

Pre-7.0.3 videos will continue to load as they always have, whole post-7.0.3 videos will make use of the new loading method. My guess is it involves the processing portion of the upload.

I'm not following...lol

looking at my 7.0.2 site videos.. I play a video I uploaded, it starts right away buffering the remaining like youtube..

looking at my 7.0.3 site videos, uploaded pre upgrade do not play until fully loaded... this is reverse..

what your saying is the videos I uploaded while the site was .2 should play as b4, they don't

I've just uploaded video to www.boonex.us site which was recently upgraded to 7.0.3 version:

http://www.boonex.us/m/videos/view/Pink-Floyd-2010-09-30

this video is buffering very well.

Also try to check the following setting in Video Player and Comments Video Player flash apps modules:

Use H264 CodecIt should be checked on - this is default setting, we notice this problem when started using H264 codec and only in 7.0.3 workaround was found and implemented. Also try to turn this setting off, in this case video will be converted using old way where this problem was not exists - however it may be ffmpeg binary related.
