7.1.2 new users can't login

Hi All,

I was looking forums for possible solution but can't find any. The issue is little strange.

Installed latest fresh 7.1.2 on my localhost. Registered new user. Trying to login under this user - "Wrong username or password". User is activated and email is confirmed.

In database duplicating the first user in "Profiles" which is admin. Changing the duplicate user name to "tester". Trying to login - the same story.

Changing "Role" on "tester" to "3" (admin rights). Trying to login - success. Changing back to 1 - Wrong password.

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks.

Nobody had this problem with 7.1.2? Just installed fresh 7.1.2 one more time on fresh server, registered new user in regular way and when trying to login under this user it says Username or Password incorrect.

I've seen this happen a few times...   i would turn of profile cache in admin.

also clear your web browser cache.  Some times (for me ) my browser would get the cookies it stored for the same user names and passwords mixed up...

Most times just turning off profile cache and and clearing the web browser cache cleared it up for me...

Also they password and salt come from a combo of the username email address and password  so i dont know if changing the user name will screw with the password salt or not ....

Thanks for reply.

I turn off all cache, cleared cache completely including deleting all cache files in Cache directories, the result:

Error! Your username or password was incorrect. Please try again.

I can get in with the new username only if I give him admin rights.

Just figured it out. It was caused by default enabled function DNS Blocklists which is broken by default and it was blocking my local ip addresses 192.168.1.xxx for some reason.

Why to not disable this function by default to save time to figure it out?
