ALL Sites Down (Hostforweb)

Any one out there using hostforweb for their server. I sent them a ticket about an hour ago, got the auto reply, but haven't heard anything. Anyone else down? I hope it's not the anonymous group.

I highly doubt that. If anything, it's probably some kind of hardware or network issue. Have you tried calling them?

Just got through on their chat and they are rebooting the node. Is there a way to do that through putty when something like this happens?

Only if you're on a VPS or dedicated server, and in that case, you should have a control panel to use.

DNS not responding. What could cause this?

What do you mean by control panel, like a putty?

The problem was CSF. The firewall module would not operate correctly with my current kernal.

I was gonna say. WHAT? but checking y sites showed they were fine.

CFS has been an issue with HFW for me as well. Every once in a while it will fail, try to restart automagically and fail again. It's a simple matter of restarting it within your WHM access.

I still haven't figured out why and it seems to happen randomly
