Active Blocks not showing up on Pages

I checked most of the pages, and some of their associated Active Blocks are not displayed. I tried moving them to Inactive Blocks and moving them back to Active Blocks section but still don't show up on either browsers. Am I missing something here?

Open the block and make sure the line that says Visible For has one checked, ex. Visible For:  _ Visitors  _x_ Members.

If that fails. Open admin. Go to advanced settings, then template.

Uncheck all the caching options and click save.

Leave the caching off until the site is complete.

The go back and try moving some blocks around again.

ok, Maurice, I checked and confirmed to have checked the blocks active for Guests and Memebers, and moved blocks back/forth from Inactive to Active but no luck.

Deano, I followed your steps, but still no luck either.

One thing I noticed is that its only very few active blocks are working fine when dragged from Inactive section. I confirmed this on all the Pages. This is frustrating. My site is pretty much canot function until I fix this issue. Please anyone suggestion is appreciated.

Thx,

zak

Now try emptying the contents of the cache, cache_public and tmp folders on the server. Leave any .htaccess files that exist in those directories and try again.

Deano,

I tried again but no success. I've cleaned the mention folders contents, moved Active blocks to Inactive, and back to Active. Also, moved Inactive blocks to Active. None of my tried worked. I'm still stuck with those few active blocks visible on the pages. I don't know what else to try...but hope not to re-install this.

What blocks are they?

Some blocks will not show up if there is no data to display.

Featured news and public files on the home page for example will not show up if no data is available.

So to get the featured news to show for example would require you actually set a news article as featured.

There are many others that also will not show if no data is available to display.

Unlike D6 where empty blocks would show with a no content message of some sort, many of the D7 blocks no longer do that. They simply don't appear if no data is available.

Deano, I just tested it and like you sd it required data to display...I'm so relieved. Thanks for your help. I really appreciated.

No Problem.

To bad it took so long to realize what was going on.
