Addijng a site

I have a question. I noticed once, a long time ago in a beta test that when I added a site to the Dolphin site mod, it actually created a thumbnail image of the front page of the site I was advertising. At that time, there were some image caching issues that never seemed to get resolved past someone telling me to clear my cache. Once you created an ad for a site, it kept using the same image ofr any new sites you added after that.

It has never worked since. I noticed during one of my now regular <sitename> error sessions that Dolphin actually uses another website to provide that image. A place called :

http://www.shrinktheweb.com

I would like more info on this and maybe some help working out why this particular feature does not work on my site.

PS. I HATE that I can't edit my post titles in this fish forum .....

ANOTHER SHAMELESS BUMP!

I cannot get this mod to work correctly. It will not grab an image from the site being posted and create the necessary thumb. Don;t know if it's a permissions thing or just a failure of the connection to the shrinktheweb website...

I don't believe the thumbnails are stored locally, so i don't think it's a permission issue. It does use a service function in the photos module, so that needs to be installed. So unless the files settings for the boonex shrinktheweb id and password got changed or damaged it should be working.

I suppose it could be your server not accessing the shrinktheweb.com site to obtain the thumbnails.

Man, I am not sure about all this Dolphin stuff. Been werkin and jerkin on this issue for days. I deleted a site to retry it and now the entire mod is working perfectly.

WTF!

I do have one suggestion. The mod grabs the title ok from the site code, why doesn't it go ahead and grab the Meta Description as well? Seems a simple thing to add in the default contents of the description and streamline the process a bit.
