Adding mass zipped files for downloading

Is there a way to take zipped files and mass import them into the "files" module?

I have about four thousand zipped files I want to add for downloading from the files module..

I believe there have been several suggestions for mass uploading period. I think the Admin should have a way to mass upload ANY type of file (photos, music, videos, etc). But since Dolphin seems to duplicate any file uploaded 517 times before its processed to your website, I don't think there is a way this is going to happen anytime soon.
