Admin Avatar

Why won't my Admin Avatar display?

It's shown there under Avatars, Manage Avatars,... but in my header and the Wall, it is the grey silhouette default user Avatar.

When 'setting' your Avatar from Dashboard>Avatars, you need to make sure that you click 'Add Avatar' underneath the photo. If you see it under 'My Avatars', you should be able to juct click the green checkmark to make it your Avatar that way as well.

Nothing to see here

 Also Nick,

a bit off topic but through experience with a lot of sites, our avatar page is reversed IMO.

The cropping tool is at the bottom, over looked by most if the image they have uploaded is large, the bottom of the page is not "seen" so when you look at your photos page you see the image named Avatar but not showing.

I did this long ago to all sites I deal with,

http://www.boonex.com/forums/?action=goto&my_flags=1#topic/Re-Arrange-Avatar-Page-.htm

with the "add avatar" button at the top now with the image below, I get complete avatar functions..

meaning members now actually finish the avatar process..

Wow this is confusing to me.. hope you understand

The first picture is the old default page, as you see the "add button" is hidden down page, most never scroll down because they see the picture and then click on the navigation bar and never complete the process.

Button is hidden with out scrolling down

Cropping Tool on Top

The above is  showing the avatar "tool" on top...

 Your welcome.

I don't know why more don't incorporate their avatar page this way.

/m/avatar/

My Avatars is my image with a red x under it.

I just deleted it, and went thru the upload process again.  Clicked on the add Avatar, it put it in the same Manage Avatars list previous with red x.

Still only seeing grey silhouette.

This is the screen grab

It's obvious there is a different problem here.

We are going to need more details.

  • custom template?
  • what have you done?
  • is this a fresh install?
  • version?
  • hosted, VPS, dedicated or your own box?

Screen grab copied to clipboard, then pasted in here showed in the editor, but not after I clicked submit.  Unlike Yahoo or Blogspot.

So I will attach it.

Fresh build by TMDHosting engineers. Default template.  I did buy the 1Col plugin to try to make it look more like FB.

The first regular member's Avatar worked on the first try.

This morning (I'm in Berlin), the Admin Avatar is showing.

That was after i received my Periodic Report e-mail. So must have something to do with DB maintenance or cache expiration/purge.

I did have a new member, who was able to create his Avatar on first try.

Dolphin is a very friendly software.
