Admin dashboard items

Dear All,

I need help big time. A developer has developed  a site for me using boonex and when I could no longer afford his charges I moved away and transfer the site to another host. I had not heard of boonex before then but my new webmaster told me that was what was used for my site. He downloaded and installed a copy and started playing around it. He showed the admin dashboard of the what he installed and that is different from my site.  Now, there are so many changes I want to make at my site but I can't since the links are just not on the admin dashboard.

I have attached a screenshot of my current admin dashboard for help and advice. How can I reactivate the buttons that are missing on the admin dashboard.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Wow. My Admin Dashboard looks nothing like that..

Do you know what version of Dolphin they installed? Not sure how many members/content you have, but it might be easier to start over with Dolphin 7.0.9. Just a suggestion.

Indeed.  Unless he marked the changes, it could be difficult to near impossible to upgrade the site.  I also don't know if the changes are only under /administration/, or elsewhere.

I agree. Looks like heavy modifications were made to the admin section of the site, and as we do not know what he did to change it, reversing it may not be possible.

Agreed. I, sure that is not the preferred route, but i this case, may be the only one

Very sorry guys, went to bed. In the files I got from the developers there is a readme.txt file that says that the version is 7.0.6. Indeed we have tried to upgrade to 7.0.7 but didn't work obviously. The area marked out in the attached image are custom models that the developer added. Those models were tied to their hosting platform and so since we moved it does not work again. We do not know how to uninstall them.

I should also add that if any one here thinks they can do something about the site let us know and tell us how much you would take. We have already paid a fortune £4000+ for this.

Another question? We have now purchased a boonex licence because as most of you are suggesting we may have to do a new installation. We know how a boonex licence look like. The developer of the existing site did not give us the boonex licence saying it is on the server and we should be able to find it. There is only licence.txt file on the server.  Do you guys think this may be a craked version and that is why the site looked the way it is? We tried to contact boonex on this but they said they cannot comment on any other licence apart from the one we've registered with, i.e the one we bought.

Just to add the site is www.blackwomenart.org.uk

if the developer created custom modules for you and you paid him for this service as a regidtered business, then you own the modules. You should always request an installable copy of any custom modules or custom work that becomes your property.

you can then re-build the site from scrach and install the modules you had developed. £4k is a drop in the ocean believe me.... Are you in the uk?

Yes, in the UK. We will demand an installable module from the developer then. You mean 4k is a drop in the ocean for that sort of site? hmmm!

Thanks.
