Age Restriction For Chat Rooms

hello,

Can anyone tell me if its possible and how I can add a age restriction to the chat room ???

i.e users can access site but not chat rooms unless they are 18+ etc

so you want an age restriction that is subsequent and different than the age setting for registering on the site?

 also so it tells the user!  i.e you must be 18 to use this chat room etc

 well i am going to go out on a limb here to say, that this will most likely not happen. now i think the profiler splitter that has been lingering around here may be able to assist you. 

it would place the member in a specific category on registration, which that could be a predefined membership group, with ACL to only certain areas and features of the site. 

however, in going deeper than that, each adult oriented chat room would need to be password protected that would only be made available to the members who have that ACL access. but to say the chat itself could limit by age, most doubtful since this was never designed as a standalone entity, and access is determined either as guest, or as membership_levelX

 what about a code that auto redirects users under 18 to a designated 'teens' room and locked from other rooms till age limit is met ??

Bump ......... still looking for a way to age restrict chat room and, or have a second working chat room for teens olny etc .....
