Ajax in Dolphin 7

I dont like when whole page is reloading when you go to Video, or to Audio, or to any section of ur site.

Header and footer is always the same, only .main div reloads.

I was trying to find the way of how to integrate that ajax thing into Dolphin.

Ive found this plugin wich is converting ur site to ajax within 5 mins.

All ive done is just added some strings to _header, _subheader, _subfooter, _footer .html files in base template.

And it worked!

But...

When u click to for i.e. Browse, it works, then u click to Sounds..it works, but then somehow it stops working..and ajax disabling.

Only after you cleaning cache it begin to work again..but only for few sections..then it stops again.

I will upload later all edited template files and js files for you to check it out.

So i am not the guy who knows some coding etc stuff, i just do like its in examples

Maybe some of you who knows well javascripting etc can sort it out well, as i might missed some

extra things in code.

I think that would be great feature if we can make it working in our dolphins setups.

Here we go:

Just download it, replace ur html files in template/base folder with html's inside of archive.

Put all JS files whereever you want on ur server, and change links to JS files in _header.html to your links, otherwise leave it, as its direct links to my server there..and i wont remove js files from there.

Dont forget to clean whole your cache in admin panel.

The problem is...when you press Browse it works, then you press say..Sounds..it works..then you press Tags it works..

but once you press to Browse or to Sounds..it stop working..i mean when you press to some link you already pressed before it stops work. Maybe should add some cleaning history string or smth? i dont know much about that stuff

I have tried it but the page is not loading well, the styles are not placed on the right position.

P.S. 'undefined' notification will show up at right side of your screen, its notifications message. I dont know how to sort them out as well.

It probably wont work for you, as i have to clean all cache up everytime it stops working.

Its better to try it on you own dolphin setup.

2 Boonex admins: There is much more powerful ajax technique developed. Wich works perfect with SEO.

It is very important for the screen to redraw as little as possible. I for one would be interested in seeing Ajax employed accordingly. Whats going on here Boonex, what are the technical reasons for not doing this??

I can't understand the reason which have made boonex set this ticket to invalid.

As far as I'm concerned, the site that "proket" offered works fine...

And we only found one thing that needed to be fixed!!!

If boonex decides not to yuse this on their site, I will buy a license and definiteley, use it!

I like the idea not to reload header and footer.

But AlexT is a very good programer and certainly has a good reason to set this ticket to Invalid.

I think that now quite everybody is in a hurry to see D7 RC and Final. So I suggest to let him work on critical bugs and maybe ask him again later...

Michel, I said in some other post that it looks like there is a directive at Boonex to get a D7 product released asap by whatever means necessary.  Album development has been halted, which in my opinion, is why cooliris was used to make up for some inadequacies.  Even the smallest of feature requests are no longer accepted in trac.  From the users point of view, I really hate this, but from the business point of view, I understand what Boonex is doing and would probably do the same thing if I were in their place.  Sometime's you have to cave in and say, 'This is the best we can do for now', and introduce a product.

It looks like 100% of the focus at Boonex it to fix bugs and NOT to implement any new features, however small, that might delay product release.  I just hope that some of the issues and enhancements members of this community are discussing now, aren't forgotten in the future, and that those enhancements will still receive fair consideration at some point.

I can ask FullAjax developer to integrate it into Dolphin. For money of course.

We need few ppl who need it to be integrated, so we can share price. Dont know price yet.

I think it will be around 300euros.

there must be some reasons that alexT set it to invalid:

1. it's beta, many code that should be fixed to make it better

2. do you know posoidon? may be boonex will integrated it all on posoidon

3. always stay tune at timeline and we can see many change every day there, many global coding that relaced on every page
