Album Covers - Sounds/Photos/Videos

I am sure on a previous version it was possible to set an album cover (image). Currently, it appears that you cannot upload an album cover for any albums in Sounds, Videos or Photos which just seems a bit daft.

Can anyone advise whether this is possible or whether it would be simple to code in or whether there is a module available that would allow this?

videos do create a thumbnail as part of the conversion. i have not tested with audio. as for photo albums, they acquire their cover from the first image loaded i do believe. but yes, there should be some means of adding a cover when you create an album for photos.

uploading audio, provides the default album cover. i presume you can change this. i will dig up how to manage this.

i did for the first time succeed in using the flash uploader for an audio file. have typically had to revert to the regular uploader.

funny thing about this is that I have no cron job set. now the regular uploader did fail, and i presume that was because there is in fact no cron to process the conversion.

well that was a wild discovery. can somebody else sign up and test that. see if you can in fact upload an audio file using the flash loader. might have to hit me up and get your permissions level changed. if there are any out there who wish to participate in the testing of these issues. just join the site. terabyte-hosting.com

flash uploader did not require cron, so its not processed with ffmpeg. i didnt know that.

Uploading sounds just creates one of those default red/green equalizer images as the cover (there appears to be controls or functionality for this whatsoever).

Any other ways you can advise to enhance this feature would be great, many thanks.

I have a mod that does this. I've become increasingly frustrated with the Dolphin Marketplace so I pulled all products except the free ones.  If you would really like to implement this featured, I could assist you.

I removed all of my mods from the market, with the exception of my free phpimage mod because I was getting quite frustrated with the marketplace.  It was just a bit too much hassle for the money.  If you would like to take a look at the thumbnails that I've uploaded as well as the music player that I was selling, you can take a look at it here:  http://www.thefamclub.com/m/sounds/home/   If you really want the mod, I'm pretty sure we could work something out.

I cannot figure this out either. This is ridiculous. Sounds should have an option to upload and change images, along with albums. Absurd that this feature doesn't exist. We absolutely need this since our entire site is about music competitions.

I also think its possible at least with sound because it uses a static image.
