Many posts on this, and many suggestions...some not so easy if you don't have server root access....anyways, Ok, here is simple solution that works.

I opened up my notepad program and entered this text:

post_max_size = 100m
upload_max_filesize = 100m

nothing more, nothing less

saved it as "file type" = all files   and name php.ini

I uploaded it inside the ray/ folder and all works fine!

Thanks to shaunbaird for posting this elsewhere

You might also want to increase values for these 2 settings if you have trouble with large files:

max_execution_time

memory_limit

i gues thats my problem i have root access to the dolphin root folder and not root access to the main server as its on a shared server and pickaweb say that the settings are to high and want me to have a dedicated server instead to many £££££££££

i have placed php.ini in the ray folder and in the dophin root folder

php_value upload_max_filesize 100M
php_value post_max_size 100M
php_value output_buffering on
php_value max_execution_time 1000
php_value max_input_time 1000
php_value memory_limit 64M

i have checked using phpinfo.php and all is fine

max_execution_time 1000 1000
max_input_nesting_level 64 64
max_input_time 1000 1000
memory_limit 64M

64M

so everything seems ok i try to upload and video uploads ok  says aprooved then 10 secs later alert pops up saying

Alert underfined

another thought was when i build a page in admin when i save it the html does not save in the mysql i have to copy and paste it in the mysql then go back to admin page builder and open up the new html page block then html to save it or it dosnt work  weired becase thats hapening im guesing its related to uploading the videos

That is one of the reasons that you don't want to run Dolphin on a Shared Server if your able to get off one.  To many issues getting things to work, no control over the root of the server and dependent upon a host to decide what your able to do with the site YOUR PAYING FOR!

Check with your host and see if they offer a VPS type server, that will allow you to set up your site the way it needs to be, then you can look into moving it to a dedicated once it's ready for it and NEEDS the dedicated.  My site and many others have been built quite well on VPS type servers and gotten all of the functions of Dolphin to work quite well.  But shared hosting is simply to dependent upon someone else's decisions who does not necessarily have your best interests in mind, since they have to configure the server to what the majority of customers on it need.  Unfortunately for you, those settings are different than what you need.

If they won't offer you a VPS then I strongly suggest you begin to interview other hosting companies, talk with other site owners to see what they have experienced and then choose the one that works best for you.  Be prepared to spend a few days doing this and asking a lot of hard questions, in the end the host you use will play a large part in deciding what your site can and can not do.

Good Luck
