Anyone have this?
Seems all the modules that catch my interest at the moment have demo sites that are offline!
Surprised developers dont have proper hosting sorted.

This doesn't seem to be a hosting issue. The demo domain has expired which means the developer may have moved on from Dolphin to explore other things. Paypal email is jeromemingo@gmail.com - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/modzzz |
which brings me back to a point I made after the last module I was looking at, where the dev had 'moved on', yet the module was still listed with no support or updating... I think there should be a different section for 'un supported' modules with a discount price, to reflect the risk for buyers who may have to update it themselves (as I have on a couple of occasions)
This would also give better profile to devs like yourself who do a great job with supporting and updating.
Can anyone point this to Mr Boon's attention??? |
I keep saying that there should be a "last online" date or history kept for the developer on each of their product pages. This will give potential customers a good clue as to whether or not they want to deal with the vendor.

That's never going to happen, for reasons that should be obvious. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Moderators (and above) can see the last login dates and other information.
Last login was 10/23/2014 Has 0 new letters and 0 unread letters.
You may want to try and email them and see what the issue is and/or if they will have the demo back online soon.
And before you ask, No, I will not go check the other 3,000+ modules or get the last login date for the 300+ developers. It would be easier if BoonEx ran a script against the database to find that information out and take whatever action they felt was needed. Nothing to see here |
There is no logical reason why the last online time should be secret knowledge confined to moderators only. Customers who intend to buy from a developer should have the basic right to know when was the last time that developer visited this part of the internet. Andrew when you read this post please give the customers what they want. Paypal email is jeromemingo@gmail.com - http://www.boonex.com/market/posts/modzzz |

I don't disagree.. Nothing to see here |
This means that devs dont have enough money to support their hosting anymore due to low sales..Just my guess. "Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow." @ www.dexpertz.net |
I really think it should though, and it 'should' be obvious why it would be a win win move business wise. Customers would gain awareness that its a 'risk' purchase, but with the cut price, gain some comfort also. Boonex would gain customer peace of mind resulting in more purchases... Devs who are active win profile win-win-win
I for one, and I know others, hesitate to purchase since 7.1 which proved to be quite disruptive market wise. I tend to do much much more research on products now, looking to find others who have bought them, then test on their sites before even thinking about buying - unless its from a dev I trust.
TRUST is the thing that needs to be put back into the market and this would be one big way to do it! Once lost, its very difficult to regain. I think there should be a different section for 'un supported' modules with a discount price, to reflect the risk for buyers who may have to update it themselves (as I have on a couple of occasions)

This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine... |
Boonex has no right to alter prices of any modules in the market . It is as simple as that. They can remove it from the market if it has been abandoned, but they can't just lower the price so you can save a few bucks. Stick with the reliable vendors.. There's only about six of them My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
unless its part of the user agreement up front for vendors who wish to sell via unity market... Boonex has no right to alter prices of any modules in the market

no money to be made here, move on. |
