Any alternative to shell_exec()

My hosting provider has disabled shell_exec() and says due to security reasons.

Images are not getting displayed and in tools>modules the following erroe is been showed

shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in inc/classes/BxDolModuleDb.php  on line 54

What Should I do? Hosting provider asking me to use some other script.... :(

Dolphin has a number of hosting requirements.

If you wish to continue to use dolphin, you will have to find a host that meets those requirements.
