Has anyone been able to get their Dolphin 7.1 site to pass Google's mobile test? https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/
Apparently, on April 21st, any sites that don't pass the test will be dropped from Google's search results when a person is using a mobile device. Unfortunately, a responsive template (at least the one's I tried) aren't enough to pass the test. Is site invisibility, at least as far as Google, imminent for 7.1 sites or is there someone who's been able to solve this?

I use two different responsive temps, both pass. ManOfTeal.COM a Proud UNA site, six years running strong! |
Mine passed as well with a responsive template. Nothing to see here |
They really should have sued Google's arse and this is another reason why. This is BS. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Encouraging to hear that some have passed. Would you be willing to share here or by PM what responsive templates you are using? I checked again after hearing it is possible. I just went through the offers in the market from the different theme authors. Out of all of the responsive themes, I actually did find just now that a template offered there -the black version of a "star" passes. Unfortunately, I don't want such a dark theme and the other color versions of that same template give a No Pass from Google due to:
Text too small to read, Links too close together, Mobile viewport not set, Content wider than screen

Thanks Newton! Amazing, my paid responsive template wouldn't pass, but a free one did the trick. Go figure. |

From what I am seeing it looks as though the splash pages are responsive but the real pages are not. Google's tool works at page level not at site level so it ain't fooled by a nice splash page.
The vexing thing for me is that a decent browser makes a good job of presenting a well structured page anyway. Responsive pages often end up losing elements, including advertising, and don't reflect the webmaster's intent for the page. As a user presented by a mobile ready page I tend to try to get the desktop page. This rush to mobile and enforced design language from Google is a retrograde step and reflects, in my opinion, a situation with mobile internet that was prevalent a few years ago but not these days.

is that world map the standard dolphin module or is it a jquery injection in header?
If so, it could be read as a fixed width and forcing google test to read the site as full width and not responsive.
I had same issue with a banner slider, this test read it as full width and would not pick up that the template was responsive. Failed the test until I removed the banner.
from the image you posted, its obviously not showing as responsive but full width.

This is a load of cow dung and perhaps a filing with the government is in order. Google is now going to remove listings from searches just because they don't like the appearance of the web page? They came close to being sued once before by the US federal government and the EU went after them for several issues. At one time they were putting their shopping searches above others and had to back away; not to mention collecting physical addresses using their google maps vans. So if the fonts on my page are not all 40 pixels high so that some f-ing idiot on a small device can read the page without zooming they are going to remove it from the listing and we all are just going to sit by and shove our heads up our arses to please Google. No, we should file a petition with the government in our countries instead. Geeks, making the world a better place |

On the other hand, if, for the terms one targets, there are not mobile accessible sites then one can expect to move up the rankings if one's pages are Google approved. In order to target mobile search we already use Google Suggest terms as H1 or H2 blocks where possible. |

I would try disabling the 'world map' page block in page builder then re-test.
My bet would be thats the cause.
That or the RTNA 'attack map'... something 'flash' has a fixed width showing in your source code.
If its the RTNA, you may have to remove the link from home page to test.

Newton27:
your site did not pass when i checked.... (not sure if u knew that or not)

the aside here for me was an instant increase in mobile clicks...
thanks----

Interesting, it didn't for me for some reason. Anyway, a free template I found did and I'm set. I do have the world map active on my site and passed with it that way.
GG- It does suck that Google is calling the shots. They gave up on "Do no evil" long ago. However, they pay for their site so I guess they can dictate what gets listed there. On the plus side, it did get me to address mobile friendliness on my site. If it wasn't for mobilegeddon, I wouldn't have bothered yet.
