Arvixe: Crashed or Didn't Pay?

To be fair, I have tried to ping multiple Arvixe sites after one I was in the middle of editing files on disappeared.  Everyone of them comes back as follows, including Arvixe.  To verify my connection was good I pinged Google, Yahoo & MyDatery (my own site).  Here are the results.

To be fair, I tried pinging arvixe.com again just before I hit the submit button and it just came back up.  It was approximately 1/2 an hour down and I'm annoyed at this because now I have to redo work I was in the middle of.  Bad Arvixe!  Bad!

A nickel host which re-sells its own, leased "infrastructure?"

Sounds legitimate to me.

Ping uses UDP rather than TCP. Some hosts block most UDP requests to cut down on denial of service attacks.

Another possible cause if if the ICMP echo requests are blocked by the firewall. If those are blocked, you would not get a reply to your ping back.

Try pinging msn.com. If i am not mistaken, they are one of the ones that block ICMP echo requests.

The ping is an exampleDeano, I spend 1/2 an hour gettin' 404 Errors and redirects to yahoo search.  Now, as of this posting the servers are up to it again.
