Auto-assign a username on join?

On the join form, can a new member's username be automatically assigned like the Member ID?

This would speed-up the joining process, using the member's firstname or lastname or whatever combination.

Thanks

I would ask Anton how much to do this as a custom job. I doubt it would be too expensive. I had him do a custom so that if a member <16 joined the site then they would automaticaly be a "Junior" member (allowing me to block content). It worked very well and was great value.

Hope it helps : )

Anton is the man to ask if anyone else wants this done :)

I'm also interested in auto assigning usernames on join.

You can try to just remove the NickName form the join form, then it should be auto-assigned with fullname, or some combination.

Worked! :) Easier than we thought ;)

@AlexT Do you also know a way to delete the confirm password field on the join page? Just as on FB and other social network sites? On the profile edit page their needs to be an confirm password field.
