 I know this a Hail Mary But... Can I use a HTML form for profile edit and get it all to pass through dolphin. I need to make a user-friendly form. I want to set up some Autocomplete fields and I have no way of knowing where to start with the dolphin core.

Sure, Dolphin uses a normal database so you can make a form that is a mix of html and php and have it write directly to the database. To make things easier I would the Dolphin inc files to use the dolphin database connection and some of the functions.
