Avatar function doesn't work

More than half the time when someone registers, the profile picture they uploaded doesn't show up at all in the set avatar section.  When it does show up, it says "click photo to set" but nothing happens - the grab handles aren't there.  The few times it works properly, that avatar never gets set as the profile photo, even though that is what the user uploaded it in the first place for.  I am trying to keep myself from screaming right now.  Does anyone know what might be wrong, and how to fix it- it seems like things get worse with every new version.

The ticket seems to indicate that this has something to do with the multiple join form, but I just combined that into a single form and tested again, and it still doesn't work.  This has been reported by others here- has anyone found a solution?

We can't reproduce it with  single join form in our demo site. Maybe you did some changes in join files?

No, no changes to the join form except through the profile fields builder.  I just loaded 7.0.5 though and was able to get the avatar function to work with a single page join form- I think the bug reports indicated some improvements were made to the avatar in this new version?   Unfortunately,  the picture the user uploads does not end up being the profile picture - just the avatar.  Has this been reported by anyone?

I am having the same issue with my page you can see at www.tomaradionetwork.com/home when you join and select your photo it does not show up and this happens to all my members that join

Was this ever resolved? I have the same problem.

i) i create an account

ii) add details

iii) upload new avatar (copied to profile album)

but once completed the avatar pic is not in the profile folder

I have tested this trouble in our current 7.0.5 version - it works fine in multiple join form. So for clear "experiment" we need to check it directly in "problem" sites.

To gotorio - ur site isn't available.

So plz send me via Unity mail next info:

1) Site url

2) Admin access

3) Info about after what changes this trouble appeared.

4) Any other troubles with upload.

This maybe a solution specific to only tomaradio's avatar problem, and is not a solution to CALTRADE's problem.

Install the free Avatar module in the administration page.

So what is going on in a site where you keep getting profiles with avatars only?   I have the profile picture on my join page, and when it works it goes to the set avatar page, but then somehow people never get a profile pic.  Then I have to write them and ask them to upload one - ridiculous.   So what is going on?  Are they unchecking the "copy to profile photos album" or is it just broken.  Again, real world advice of how people manage this could be useful.

its most possible that they are unticking that. i seen somewhere that you could edit your site where you could force a profile photo upload, which is more logical than trying to depend on the avascar, which has presented nothing but problems since implemented on the site
