Avatars not displaying on mobile devices only

Members' photos displayed as avatars flash up for a second on mobile devices only then disappear. They display fine on a PC or laptop.

Anybody else have this problem?

Very strange. Avatars vanish if you look at profiles in the "Simple" view but not in "Extended" view.
