Bad Install 7.1.5

I installed to SnowBoardingWorld.info and its been a total mess! I installed 7.1.4 to another domain and had no problems. See my site, lots that isn't right. I had to install a php.ini to get some of the issues right like this one allow_url_include = Off that showed up right after I started my install.

Should I tear it down and start over with 7.1.4?

Thanks

First of all, make sure you install 7.1.5 manually and not from an automated install script.

The requirements for 7.1.5 are the same as for 7.1.4.

Tear it down and start over again with 7.1.5, making sure you use binary transfer and follow the instructions as to permsissions after you upload the files.  Permissions can be found in the HELP section above.

Are you using Softaculous or another auto-installer? It's always best to manually install Dolphin.

Is the other domain on the same server? Check these values for PHP:

  • allow_url_include (needs to be Off)
  • allow_url_fopen (needs to be On)
  • memory_limit (needs to be at least 128M)
  • max_execution_time (needs to be at least 300)
  • open_basedir (needs to have no value, empty)
  • disable_functions (needs to have no value, empty)

You can create a phpinfo.php file with these contents: <?php phpinfo(); ?>

Hey, I did this manually just like this video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbWTMUpHm4o

The site is down now, but before this was a complete mess, more errors coming in all the time, can I get 7.1.4? I installed this one and had everything running in just 2 days and it still runs great!

OT, But now I cant add videos like I used to https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6098135?p=yt_devicesupport&hl=en&rd=1

Thanks

There's no reason 7.1.5 won't work if 7.1.4 does, unless there's a configuration mismatch between the two sites (or it's a bad install). If you'd like, I can install a fresh copy of Dolphin for you and make sure the server is correctly configured.

As everyone else has pointed out. 7.1.5 has the same requirements as 7.1.4 does. The only difference is 7.1.5 has a security fix. So you should be using it, and not 7.1.4.

If your 7.1.5 site did not work, then something went wrong with the install, files were damaged during upload, or something is configured different between the two domains on the server.

I'm tied-up with upgrading sites at the moment, but I can install 7.1.6 for you in a bit. Please PM me your cPanel login information, and I'll let you know when I can start.
