dolphin 6.1.x you could set a ban lengh of time in hours, so you would enter how many hours to ban the person for. and now you cant enter that, the bans are all for just 24 hours and no more, and no less. why was it changed?

it worked well before, why set to just 24 hour ban now, and they admin has no choice anymore

I to have always wondered about that issue..lol I don't really use it but does make sense that Admin can control the amount of time to ban a member.

You possess an intuitive intelligence so powerful it can help you heal, and relieve stress.

if it aint broke dont fix it, but boonex like taking a step backwards it seems

This is why it is so difficult to get excited about any of the future plans for versions of D7 - whatever fish or marine mammal name they are using, or even D7.1.   Unlike most open source software, this one actually loses functionality over time.   It may gain some new features, but it may also lose some critical ones - things like search and matching that worked will in D6, but stopped working in D7.

p.s. I also think an 24 hour ban as your only option is stupid.   I noticed Andrew banned a guy for 24 hours for trying to sell support services on a dispute thread I started   It seemed both overreaching and silly at the same time - but he probably picked that penalty time because that was the only option the software gave him.

Can you give exact version? like 6.1.4 ?

6.1.5 had the ability to enter the time the person was banned for in hours.

The ip number is also a joke, as it does not record the first login ip, on join up. and that should be shown, and the ability to email the ip with the notify email on new member join up.

the ip should also be able to be checked against ip's used by current and banned members (to stop banned members rejoining) yes we all know you can use a proxy, but having to keep doing lenghy joinups because an ip is logged, is enough a deterrent most of the time.

I do not see why boonex took a step backwards and removed a tool from admin, when admin need more tools to use to control their sites and members
