 Hi, I banned a user but his profile and avatar were still showing up on search profile page. I had to manually delete the avatar thumbnail from the file system. So in future, I will make sure that before I ban a user, I change his avatar. Anyways, I think this is a bug. If a user is banned, he's profile should not show up in searches as his username might contain some objectionable characters as well. Thank You Mick |
I agree. I had a question here about the difference between "suspension" and "banning". I thought I could suspend a member, and their profile would just disappear. It does, but they can log in and "unsuspend" themselves - or they can suspend themselves if they want. I have never "banned" a member, but apparently that is more like being "punished" - on a dating site. Doesn't the profile turn red or something - but people can still see it - like they are being shamed? Seems like an old concept from the early Internet / AOL days. I would rather just have the profile become invisible, but remain in the database. Rob |
