Hi,
I banned a user but his profile and avatar were still showing up on search profile page. I had to manually delete the avatar thumbnail from the file system. So in future, I will make sure that before I ban a user, I change his avatar.
Anyways, I think this is a bug. If a user is banned, he's profile should not show up in searches as his username might contain some objectionable characters as well.
Thank You
Mick

I agree. I had a question here about the difference between "suspension" and "banning". I thought I could suspend a member, and their profile would just disappear. It does, but they can log in and "unsuspend" themselves - or they can suspend themselves if they want. I have never "banned" a member, but apparently that is more like being "punished" - on a dating site. Doesn't the profile turn red or something - but people can still see it - like they are being shamed? Seems like an old concept from the early Internet / AOL days. I would rather just have the profile become invisible, but remain in the database.

I put this as a bug in beta 7 and it was supposed to be resolved. Can someone put it on TRAC? As a premium member I thought I could but I don't have permission still. Don't buy premium memberships until boonex gets their act together. |

What does?
If your refering to premium members access to trac, well not every premium member can post to trac, even after logon. For some it works, others it don't.
So maybe someone needs to check again.

AlexT, can you please explain what you mean when you say it work's since jan 5th. I do not see the defect status changed to fixed or any new releases after D7.0 stable, so what do you mean? If you have the fix in your development environment, how can we get this fix?
Thank

For future reference, please note this bug was set to invalid with this reason -
"Banned profiles can not login only - this is common behavior of banned
users. If you do not want user to be visible anywhere delete profile or
suspend it."
So make sure you suspend the profiles of the users you would like to ban :)
