Beta 8 Installation Errors

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing difficulites installing B8.  I haven't had any problems with the other betas, however when I try to install this one I am getting errors.  Directly after the installation I get this message:

Possible attack!!! All data has been collected and sent to the site owner for analysis.

I hadn't removed the install directory yet so I did that and then I get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot apply localization.

I am assuming the second error is something to do with some tables or DB entries not installed properly - I think I remember reading something about this before.  When I look at my SQL db I have 100 tables and I am not sure if this is correct since earlier betas had more tables.  (I need to examine the SQL install script).

Anyway, I have tried the install three times with the same result.  Wondering if anyone else experiencing anything similar to this?

Fatal error: Cannot apply localization.

Did you check your lang folder in your server ? check if it's empty ! if yes upload the lang-en.php and i think that will solve that problem :) hopefully am right .

Hi guys, i guess i post one here since you are at it!

I have this during installation, about the permission file:

plugins/htmlpurifier/standalone/HTMLPurifier/DefinitionCache/Serializer/HTML      Not Exists

This appear in the first step of installing Dolphin, when verifying the file permission.

I cant go to the next step.

I checked on filezilla, and the file in question /HTML does not exist.

Any clue on this? should i create one?

thank you!

I think lang-en.php is generated after install as it is not included in the download archive, but yes this is missing from the folder.  I tried uploading the lang file generated from my beta 7 install just for fun and then it went back to the 'possible attack' message.

@westmerch - I didn't come across the error you encountered, I simply uploaded the zip file and unarchived on my server and did the install.  Sorry I can't be more help on that one.

It seems you have the same problem as me.  The language file is supposed to be generated at installation.  I will look at it more in depth later tonight when I have more time.  In the meanwhile you might want to check your database to make sure all of the tables and data was successfully imported from the install script.

Success!  Just in case anyone else has the same issue - I copied the language file from my beta 7 installation and I set the permissions to 755 (I didn't set the permissions correctly last time I tried this).

Hardly the ideal solution, however it is a workaround to get up and running.

Ok so I decided to try one last re-install of this from scratch and it made it past the language issue I had earlier and generated its own language file.  I was able to tweak everything and install the modules and my own template.  Then I added my Dolphin license code and all of a sudden everything fell to ^%&*#@  Now I have the lovely message I started with :

Possible attack!!! All data has been collected and sent to the site owner for analysis.

When you get that message apparently you are basically screwed as it locks you out of everything including the administration panel - must be some new security thing.

Morale of this story ... I think I'll just wait until the final release is out and hope that I have better luck.

I am having the same problem. Installed one copy on this server just fine. Now when I try a second, I get the security hack attempt error. I have tried over and over again. Can I only install one copy per server? The installations are on different websites in different directories. This is linux also. It is weird how the first one went so smoothly.

worked fine no errors

A temporary fix is to comment out require_once(BX_DIRECTORY_PATH_INC . "security.inc.php"); in the header.inc.php file, however this disables all security stuff that has recently been added.  Hopefully Boonex will post an official fix soon or correct before the next beta.

And of course, that is AFTER you finish fixing the database tables AND replacing lang.en.php right? I guess we need beta 9. :)

By the way, this version will no longer install at all on php 4.3 servers because of the security module.  I have another server that is php 6, but my d6 site is on the php 4 server so I can't upgrade.  Worked fine on Beta 7 on that server, so this is still another thing they broke with this version.

Quote · 29 Oct 2009

you should be able to upgrade just move your 6.1 site to the server that supports php5 or php6 and go from there :)

Quote · 29 Oct 2009

Hmm...I also have the problem. Now I am wondering why some people do have this problem but some do? So are we waiting for Boonex to come with a fix?
