Blogs & word processing

I am not sure if this is a Dolphin bug or a bug related to the text editor.

Word processing is a funny game I think. I've always thought that editors used to create blogs should be a little more like a word processor and less like a chatbox. I am always a little disappointed by the lack of these features in most editors found online. A little more attention to the idea of WYSIWYG would make publishing anything a much easier task.

I created a test blog and ran across an issue where what you see is not what you get.

The editor adds a blank line between paragraph tags (</p> here<p>) that does not result in a blank line in the published blog.

I tested it against Firefox and IE7 and 8, same result....

No. It's not a dolphin bug. It the way the tinymce editor that dolphin uses was designed. Personally i use the fckeditor for all of my projects. I like it more than tinymce.

The makers the the tinymce editor insist on following html standards. So instead of using <br> for a line break they insist on using paragraph tags.

Anyhow, i don't like it any more than you do, and at some point in time i will find a way to change the <p> tags to <br> tags.

But you can force it if you hold down shift each time you press enter. I have gotten into the habit of doing it. Takes a bit of getting used to but it's my work around for the moment.
