COMMENTS BLOCK NOT WORKING - DATABASE ERROR

Hello,

I have a D7.06 site under construction with a custom template. The problem I am having is the comments section does not work. The comments return a DATABASE ERROR (please see attached pics) if anyone attempts to post a comment, however, if the page is refreshed the comment appears. This seems to only happen with the use of any custom templates. I have the same problem with another site I am working on. With the other site if anyone attempts to post a comment, the box just states "LOADING" and no comment appears. If the page is refreshed then the comment is displayed.

Does anyone know why this occurs and how to fix.

You will need to look at your php error logs right after the error occurs. The actual reported error is needed. The red box with the words Database query error is really useless. It does not show the error.

The error should be in your php server logs.

Another option would be to change the php settings to turn error reporting on so they are shown onscreen which is normally off by default as error reports can contain sensitive information that should not be shown to the general public which is why it's off on most servers.

In any case the actual mysql query error that is occurring must be obtained before we can offer any help.
