Can't Record Video

I am having trouble getting the video to work.  I record via my webcam, then save it, it displays that it's processing, which takes several minutes, even for a very short video, and then comes back that the process failed - every time.  Is this connected to the RMS server?  I'm running 7.0.4 of both Dolphin and RMS.

My ISP says that the script is pointing to the RMS Server, if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks

Bryan

no, RMS is not tied to video, its only for video chat

double check ffmpeg.exe permissions, you may have to set permissions 777 or 755 and cron job must be correct

can you ssh into server and run "top" to see if ffmpeg.exe starts running after a few minutes?

Actually RMS is required for anything live time.

So it is required for....

1) Webcam and sound in chatrooms.
2) Whiteboard
3) Video. (For recording only)

oh forgot about the whiteboard, never use it..

and the video comments? so you don't have rms you don't get video commenting?

never noticed. guess because I have always used the rms feature

So, I heard that dolphin has an RMS server I can point my site to until I can get this sorted out?  I can't seem to find the URL and how to connect to it.

No. Boonex used to offer a free RMS server for use, but that was shut down a long time ago.

I am having the same issue

It looks like video recording is not working on Mac:

If you are using windows then everything should work.

I'm using Windows 7, and my server is a Linux.  I have upgraded to Dolphin 7.0.4 and had the 7.0.4 version of RMS installed by my ISP.  The RMS settings are accepted by the Flash Apps settings control panel, and closes, obviously it has connected to it. I am still unable to get the Video to successfully process a video created with my webcam.    I have cleared the cache several times also.

Also, when I open up the Flash Chat, there is no video option.

Well after working closely with my IP, we have come to the conclusion this is a software issue.  Chat works, and so do all other flash modules that require RMS, however, the recording of video's via the webcam just WON'T BLOODY WELL WORK, no matter how we look at it.

I upgraded to Dolphin 7.0.4, my IP installed RMS version 7.0.4, and we even tried 2 different domains running the same software and trying to connect to the same RMS - IT WON'T PROCESS AND SAVE RECORDED WEBCAM VIDEO'S.

If anyone else is having the same problem, let me know, but it must be within the version 7.0.4 Dolphin AND RMS - also, if it works for you, then let me know how!!

Hello

Can you provide me with some test account on your site and cpanel details to it? I'll look at the problem.

Is RMS (Ray Media Server) running on your server?

Thanks for the tips: use RMS is checked, my hosting RMS IP is correct but I'm not sure if ports are correct:

RMS Port: 1935

RMS HTTP Port: 5080t

I hope there isn't really a "t" in the port configuration.  Also, make sure your domain is whitelisted.

Sorry typing mistake, it is:

RMS Port: 1935

RMS HTTP Port: 5080

Check what Nathan mentioned. In the RMS directory there is a file called access.dat that lists every domain name that is allowed to access the RMS.. your domain name should be there for it to work.

I checked with my hosting Server, they confirmed that my domain is listed already but they believe their RMS configuration is different than what I have as LIVE CAMERA installation instructions:

 --------------------------------

4. If you have RMS 3.5.1 installed on your server you should use "rms3.5.1" folder, otherwise if you have the RMS 3.5.2 or RMS 7.0 you should use "rms3.5.2-rms7.0" folder (RMS 3.5.2 is used with Dolphin 6.1.5m RMS 3.5.1 is used with earlier versions of Dolphin). Copy the chosen folder contents to root directory of your RMS, then edit "webapps/livecam/WEB-INF/red5-web.properties" file replacing "0.0.0.0" with your server IP-address.
--------------------------------
I've already installed Live Camera from SRC folder only as I don't know what version of RMS they are running on their server.Could it be the issue?

Ohhh, I thought you were having trouble using the stock modules that come with Dolphin. I don't have any experience with Live Camera so I have no idea. Hopefully someone else who is using it will chime in.
