Can't View Profiles

Hello All,

I have a problem that just started yesterday. I was not experiencing this problem prior to yesterday. I have not made any changes or installed any mods. I cannot view any member's profiles when I click on them, other than when I am logged in as ADMIN. I get ACCESS DENIED.  I have all member's memberships set to STANDARD and in the ADMIN section, I have enabled profile views under the STANDARD MEMBERSHIP settings.

Any ideas?

Yes that is correct and I have it set in ADMIN for profiles to be viewed.

In doing further testing it now seems that a regular member (NOT ADMIN) can only view their own profile and their own photos, etc. They cannot view any other members' profiles or photos, etc. I have all the permissions set in ADMIN to allow these features. Membership permissions are correct and allow these options.

Any ideas?

Check this.

Admin->Settings->Privacy Settings

Make sure Default, Me Only, Public, Members and Friends are checked.

The symptoms you describe indicate the default Public one might be off.

If they look ok, then uncheck them all, save, then re-check and save again.

Hi Deano,

I am having the same issue as Angel245, except with a slight differance. In other words, no one can view profiles except admin (when logged in as admin). If I click on a profile as a guest or when signed in as any other member, it keeps throwing up a fatal error, out of memory. With an ending like this, fatal error allowed memory is exhausted etc etc in plugins/minify/lib/Minify/CSS/Compressor.php on line 71 !!!!
The error location changes with every profile I try and view when not logged in as admin. Also I have much more memory available than it says I am supposed to have exhausted! I spoke with my host who increased my memory allowance in PHP.ini etc but it has made no difference.

Besides that, I only have a few test profiles on my site, no real members and never more than one person online at a time. The other funny thing is as admin I can't seem to exhaust the memory even if I try. I can listen to a sound, play a game and play a video 'all at the same time' and yet I can still view profiles without getting an out of memory error!

I would really appreciate any help with this, as it has prevented me from launching my site for months now.

Cheers

That's a different problem, actually. I recommend you make sure your PHP configuration meets the minimum requirements. memory_limit should be at least 128M.

I agree. Different problem and i also agree the PHP memory limit needs to be increased.

However, i normally recommend a minimum of 256M

Oh, and I should also mention not to leave out part of the error message and replacing it with "etc etc." You don't want to make that a habit.

Deano and Magnussoft  thanks for your help and advice, I will take note of your comments and ensure I give the proper information.

Just to clarify, I am currently running Dolphin 7.04 on a shared hosting plan, as I wanted to ensure i had a stable system, before spending X ammounts per month on a dedicated server. (which I intend to do as soon as possible as I have 2 more licenses I want to get up and running)  I have been working on the site for 7 months now and apart from adding gamezone, it is a standard site. I have about 20 dummy member profiles and a few adverts and youtube embed links to videos on there. The site worked perfectly for many months and the problem with only admin being able to view profiles seemed to happen out of the blue, although I appreciate something must have happened.
I have spent months researching the forums to avoid taking up peoples time here, but this is now my last resort.

Guests and members, can play videos and games etc, without a memory error. It is onlty when trying to view profiles that the error occurs. Admin can do three tasks at once, play an online game, playi an uploaded music file and have a video playing, yet still be able to view profiles without a memory error.

My host did increase my PHP ini to 128, but this did not help.

Also thanks to your help, I looked into this a little closer today and I have just noticed that I get  different error messages when trying to view profiles as a guest or when logged in as a member. I have included the full errors here, replacing my personaldetails with 'my name' and 'my site'

Errors when tring to view profiles as a guest:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 135678 bytes) in /home/myname/public_html/mysite/plugins/minify/lib/Minify/CSS/Compressor.php on line 71

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 276857 bytes) in /home/myname/public_html/mysite/plugins/minify/lib/Minify/CSS/Compressor.php on line 75

Errors when trying to view profiles as a member:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /home/myname/public_html/mysite/cache/mm_sys_menu_member_keys_3_f0e4df41ce4ede6439f19a003ef61353.php on line 1344

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 24 bytes) in /home/myname/public_html/mysite/cache/mm_sys_menu_member_keys_3_f0e4df41ce4ede6439f19a003ef61353.php on line 1269
.
Thanks again

Not sure it's the right forum thread, but here goes, I have an issue from where all non members cannot view members profiles. It shows a very large picture of the member and a short text description at the bottom then an error message at the bottom please see the attachment.

I have changed the admn settings privacy, tried the membership non-member privilages, but am now lost!!

Hope somebody could advise me on this one the site is talentastic thanks oh...it's .co.uk. At the moment I have changed it to just members viewing, but can demonstrate this and changed it back for anyone if they request to see it live..

Many Thanks...

Identical problem as Angel245 ... tried your solution but it didn't work.
My situation is a little bit more extrnsive so I posted a new question in the forum.
