Can't access admin panel

Hi all,

I've run into a strange issue I'm hoping someone can help with. I can no longer access my administration panel. When I try and go to www.mysite.com/administration I get a member profile screen with the message profile not available. The same things happens when I try and use the admin panel button on the member menu. Any idea how to resolve this?

I probably should have added that the setting in header.inc.php has administration as the admin directory.

$site['ver']               = '7.0';
$site['build']             = '0';
$site['url']               = "http://www.mysite.com/";
$admin_dir                 = "administration";
$site['url_admin']         = "{$site['url']}$admin_dir/";

Verify the following.

1) administration folder is still there and did not get deleted for some reason.

2) administration folder permissions did not for some reason become unreadable.

3) administration folders .htaccess file did not get altered or damaged.

Thanks so much deano. I just did a restore and the administration folder didn't come over for some reason. Greatly appreciate your help :)

I have the same problem however my administration folder IS gone.  I don't think I have a good backup to work from (long story). 

I can get in as ADMIN, which is an Administrator profile.

What to do?  Any help is most appreciated.

Upload /administration/ from a fresh download (that matches your version). I don't want to know how you managed to delete it.

Thanks Nathan.  Unfortunately I am simply the site owner, not the programmer.  I think a Level 1 tech at my hosting company messed it up.  I'll make them fix it.  I figured that is what you would say but appreciate the verification.  Thanks so much for the quick reply!
