Can't upload photo via join form

I notice that when I create an account and upload a photo via the join form it does not show anywhere, for approval in the photos section OR in the person's profile once their account is approved.

Has anyone else had this problem?  How do you fix it?

There are all sorts of bugs in the profiles photo and avatar functions.   Search on either term to read more - it is extremely frustrating.   What happens with yours - do they get to the "set avatar" part?   That is what is happening with mine - they get an avatar, but never the profile photo.  I hate it.

Can someone PLEASE shed some light on why when a person joins and uploads their photo in the join form why it does not show in the photos module to be approved??  Where does the photo go??

I have a similar issue with my facebook connect modules new facebook photo import feature.

As it turns out, this problem for me only exists if email validation and/or admin approval are required. If those settings are change to auto approve the account then the photos work for me.

I would suggest testing that as well on your end and see if that makes a difference.

I believe that the photos module does not allow photo uploades for accounts that are not yet active.

Well that is a great observation Deano - and a huge bug.  Do you think anyone here can get Boonex to take notice?

Thanks for the explanation.  Yes I do have email validation. That explains it!  I guess I won't have that option. I really did want a mandatory photo so that there won't be blank photo spots for those who don't want to load an image.  Does anyone know of a way for there to be a default pic for profiles without pictures?

I just registered on another members site, and the exact same thing happened  - my profile photo that was uploaded on registration never showed.  This was a highly skilled member here who works with a developer - and he couldn't get this working.  It was very awkward and took me almost 5 minutes to get both my profile and avatar picture posted, and I know this stuff.

This is what I have been finding more and more infuriating about Boonex lately.   This is a HUGE bug - one of at least a half dozen that have been talked about extensively here that make it extremely difficult to manage a site, yet Boonex doesn't even acknowledge it, much less write a ticket.   This is feeling less and less like an "open source" community lately - the members here have developed all sorts of fixes, but they seldom make it into the product.

You can't create your own demo site?

prolaznik - if you are volunteering, I got all sorts of things I could put you to work on.  You got the invitation to the accelerator I am trying to build, didn't you?

Not so easy as i thought it would be lol.. why even bother with it didn't boonex say that the avatar module will be gone in 7.1?.

Why bother with it?   Because I have site that I want to work in the real world, that's why.   Do you have some inside information as to when 7.1 will be released, and do you know for sure that when they do release it they won't break two functions for every one they fix?
