Can you make tabs like in BROWSERS

Can you make tabs like IE/Mozilla use?

I used an iframe to show a forum in my site (not mine).  Worked great.  The only challenge is that they need to login to the forum each time that they navigate away from the forum page.

Is there a way to make the links to the pages like tabs, similar to browser tabs, where the information would remain untouched on that page (not navigating away from it)?

This would be super duper awesome.

Thanks in advance,

Russell =)

I'm not quite sure what your asking.  How would these tabs work with the site and the content on the site?

Thanks for the reply =)

What I mean is that if you're browsing a site in internet explorer, or mozilla, or flock or whatever, and you wanted to go to another site you could open up a new tab and browse in that tab.  If you then wanted to go back to the other tab you would simply click on the 1st tab and could toggle back and forth between the two...

I know you can click back and forth between the tabs in dolphin, but when you click from one tab to another and go back to the 1st tab... then when you go back to the previous tab (either BACK to the 1st or the 2nd), it's as if you were going to the page for the 1st time.

Again, in my specific example, I created a new page with a 3rd party website.  So if you clicked on the tab for that page and then logged in to that 3rd party site and then clicked on for example your profile... when you then click back on the tab for the 3rd party site.... you're back to the homepage of that site and need to login again... every time.

So... in other words, I want members to be able to toggle back and forth between tabs (at least for certain pages) and have the page stay as it was wtihout going back to the page as if it were the first time the tab was clicked.....

hope that makes sense =)

Thanks again =P

To do what you want you can go to Admin>Builders>Nav Menu.  From there select the "tab" that you want to have a new page instead of the current page changing.  Click on the Tab and in Target Window select New (default is self).  You need to do this for every link you wish to have in a new window.  The result is that in current browsers (i.e. 8, FF 3.xx,) the new window will open in a new tab.  Now the member simply tabs back and forth between pages.

Thanks again for the reply and it's good to know that I have that option as well.  What I'm looking to do is not open a new tab in their Actual Browser.... what I want is to do that... BUT... internally in dolphin (in the tabs inside my social site, not the tabs on their browser).

Someone else was nice enough to message me and gave me a site as an example asking me if this is something like what I meant... here is my reply which might help to clarify things.

(in regards to: http://www.ezdate.gr/myspace)

I don't think so...

What I want to do (in the example of your site) would be to be able to click on the Videos tab and then click on, say for example, Popular Videos, and click on a video watch half of it, pause it, then decide I want to play a game real quick and Click on the Arcade tab and then after I'm done playing a game, I want to be able to click back on the Video tab and finish watching the rest of the video.  As it stands right now, I'd have to go back in to the Video tab, click on the Popular Videos tab again, find the video again, and then get it back to the spot it was before to finish watching it...

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the reply.  Let me know if I missed something on that site that you were talking about. =)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want it to remember where on the page they navigated to (or for it to keep them logged in if it's an external site like I'm doing with the iframe) so that they can navigate through the different tabs without having to start all over again as if it's the first time they clicked on the tab if they want to go back and forth.

I can make a video of my site and show you what I mean if it's still not making complete sense.

Thanks everybody for the help.  Much appreciated =)
