Cannot access Orca control panel

I've searched these forums and I'm unable to resolve this.

I've got a fresh install of Dolphin 7.0.5  I've installed the Orca module, but I'm unable to get to the administration panel for it.

Every time I try, I get a 404 error.  Also, the link from within the Administration area under modules tries to take me to http://mydomain.com/forums

I've read some other posts.  I've uploaded a fresh copy of .htaccess to my domains root.  I've uninstalled Orca and reinstalled it.  I've recompiled languages.  Nothing has worked.

Any ideas?

There's no orca forum control panel, per se, there is just the "manage forums" section on the forums. When you click on Orca Forums in your Admin panel it takes you to the forums where you can click the submenu item "Manage Forum" and  from there  you can edit, delete and create forums. Oh and you can compile languages.

Well thats the problem then.  When I click on the link, it takes me to http://mydomain.com/forums   But the 404 page comes up.

I've looked in the directory structure of my site, and their IS a forums folder with many files in it.

Any idea why I can't access it?

Make sure that your orca forum and mod rewrite installed successfully!

PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first

did you mean to put the "s" in forum(s) because it should be forum..   http://mysite.com/forum/

I have a similar error. I had to reinstall orca to manage the forums. I added forums and topics. Now the Manage forums line has disappeared again and is not accessible via admin. Suggestions?

Another problem solved. I did not want to show the forums in my top menu so I unchecked the visibility but by doing this it turned off my ability to manage the forums. By restoring the top menu visibility it also restored my manage forums link.

FYI in case someone else does something similar.

Thanks so much!

When I uninstall Orca and reinstall, it says it installed successfully.  But how do I check mod rewrite?  Please excuse my ignorance.

Oh and to the other poster - yes I incorrectly spelled out the url.  It should be http://mydomain.com/forum/

I have the same issue... uninstalled Orca Forum and reinstalled it again.... still can't open it from the Modules panel. It brings me to http://mydomain.com/forum

hat's what is supposed to happen.

It's confusing, but this is actually the way it is supposed to work: When you click from Admin->Modules->Orca Forums the page you are supposed to be directed to is yoursite/forum. The only difference b/tw that and the regular forum page is that you'll now see a submenu link titled "Manage Forums" and that is your Admin access. There isn't an admin panel for forums the way there is for other modules.

I don't see anything when I am directed to  http://mydomain.com/forum .... I only get a blank white page.

Actually there are two answers here.

Which one are you referring to?

  1. Clicking on the Link from Admin directly to forums page?
  2. Clicking on the Link from Admin and getting a white page?

Please post your version of Dolphin too.

I have the same problem. If I navigate to admin > modules > orca forum, I only see a blank page.

If I try to access the forum from the main website using the forum link in the top navigation bar, I also get a blank page.

I have a new default installation, and at this time only have the orca forum module installed.

I have installed Dolphin twice now with same outcome.

1st install was manual using; download, upload files, run installation script - all went without issue.

2nd time was using cpanel > Softaculous. This also end with the same result.

It would be great if someone could shed some light on the issue so I and others with the same issue could get on with our projects and become more involved it what appears to be a great peice of software.
