Cannot save profile

Hi All,

I seem to have gotten my issues out of the way permissions wise but when I try to edit my profile, it doesn't allow me to do it. I can't click the "save" button on the bottom. I also notice that it ALWAYS shows that the page is loading and it's waiting. Is there something that's causing the page not to load fully and thus not allowing me to hit the save button? Any ideas what that might be? My site is at takingbackesports.com if anyone can help diagnose.

symm,

good day,

first thing i would ask is where are you hosted? i see you have your domain parked at godaddy with a redirect to an IP to CIHOST. i tried to contact that host via their website live chat, and request a call back, both of which i got a page not found.

I am just curious to know if their server is setup to handle the dolphin application.

at any rate, without knowing what was done in order to get you to the point where you are now, not much help on this one, but i did look.

Regards,

Thanks Dos. I have my domains parked at godaddy but I have a dedicated server hosted at CIHost's facility. I own and have full control over the server. I've read through the docs and the only questionable "requirement" that I have was the magic quotes. That seems to be a deprecated variable and outdated so I wanted to know if that was required on Dolphin 7. I noticed the docs said it was needed for 6.16.

Any ideas anyone? I switched from the skin that I downloaded back to the UNI theme just to make sure that wasn't it but it still didn't help. I can't really evaluate this against buddypress if I can't even get my profile to save.

So far, I really like what I've seen in here, especially with the ability to edit your columns and your home page, I just need to make sure I can do the basic things before I can take that into consideration.

Thanks.

I was having this same problem and it was driving me nutso for several days. Truly was losing my mind. Whether my "fix" repaired through coincidence or it is the true glitch, I don't know. But, what made my profile finally save was by clearing the "description" text block (the one that requires a set number of minimum characters) of text and typing in just over the minimum number of characters. Whether I was over a limit in the description, I don't know...or whether it was because I used a "cut and paste" action to import text. Could have had some lingering html encoding tied to it...don't know.

Try clear that description, enter something like "I will come back to update later," and see if it works.

If not, I guess I just got lucky with that final push of the "Save" button.

Hope it works for you!

Kimberly,

THANKS SO MUCH! I didn't realize that in the description field, there was a minimum set of characters and that seemed to be the problem. I copied/pasted in there a little bit more text and it saved just fine. I'm still seeing a script on my site taking a lot time to load, but at least I'm able to save my profile. That was one feature that I couldn't believe didn't work.

Thanks again!
