Cant enable guest comments :((

i everyone,

In my dolphin when ever I add comments to user profiles they are visible only to registered users even after I enable " comments by guests ". Can any one help me with this issue ?

I am adding the screen shots of both the 1) profile page where comments are required and 2) Admin page where I enabled guest comments

1. Profile page where Guest Comments are to be enabled ..... the RED BOX shows that the comments are not enabled for guests :( but it is enabled for registered users of my site.

2. The Settings page in the Admin Panel .... The RED BOX shows the option that I enabled to enable comments by guest

Some one please help me with this issue :(

The option enable comments for guests is to allow guests to post comments.

To change who can see the comments block you need to go to the page builder and change the view settings to be visible by guests

Its already enabled for guests, even then they can't post any comments :(

I tested this on my test site last night - had exactly the same issue, so either it's a bug, or the way to enable it is not very intuitive.

So who's gonna help us with this issue ? Will any of the dolphin team look into this issue ? If they do then it will be easy for all of us.  Or we have to wait for someone who has a solution for this :(

Quick 'hack' fix

Edit templates/base/scripts/BxBaseCmtsView.php

Find (on about line 44)

if($this->isPostReplyAllowed ())

Comment it out (change it to)

// if($this->isPostReplyAllowed ())

It will basically show the comment box to everyone - regardless of permissions.

This needs further investigation, I suggest you report it to your agent.

I'm having problems also. On the wall, when one of my friends comments on the wall, it's not able to be viewed on my wall. Isn't the wall somewhat a broadcast to everyone on the friends list? I am having alot of complaints at this time with this and i'm starting to loose members. Can someone take a look at this problem and provide a fix.  Thanks

Thanks for that hack DM :D , the problem is solved temporarily but will contact my agent as u said and let them find a solution for it :) it will be useful for many.

@drfrancis - I'm not sure that the wall works this way - Sounds more like facebook
