Dear SashaE

I did what you suggested, but the "Standard" membership still comes up so the user has to select one of my membership levels. It would be great if the "Standard", "non-member" and "Promotion" could be removed, so only own membership levels were present. Is it possible?

On my site I don't want any free profiles, so the membership level has to default to a level where I can set a price. It doesn't seem to be possible with the 3 standard levels.

I am on version 7.0.4

All the best

I want to do the same. I want to remove the levels I cannot change them and I don't want them on there or be able to disable them completely.

You can not remove that default membership levels. Since they are used by the system. When a user have joined  it is automatically assigned a standard level of membership. Then he can buy any of your  paid levels. As for promotion, it you can easily disable the admin panel

You can try this:

Convert 'Standard' Membership to 'Payable' In your cpanel, go to phpmyadmin > your Dolphin database.

Go to sys_acl_levels
Click on the Edit tab for Standard Membership
Change Purchasable from No to Yes and save
Login to the Admin section of your site.  Go to Settings > Membership Levels.
You should now see Pricing next to Standard in the Levels.  Click on it and enter Pricing info.
Disable Promotional Membership in Manage Membership Levels Settings.  Remove all actions from Non-member level.

Now you should only have one active membership, which requires payment.  If you want additional paying Membership levels, create them.

>>> I have not tried this with only paying memberships so I don't know what will happen when someone tries to join once these settings are in place.  Ideally they should be directed to your payment module or sent some notification that payment is required.  If not, enable your Promotional membership but set it for 1 day.  Then, once a member joins they have 1 day to upgrade to a paying membership.  This may be the only way to do mandatory payments with the default Dolphin program.

I do not know the author of this, proceed with caution.

There are none so blind as those that will not see.

It makes no sense because when registering, users will be appointed with  Standard membership level for free and for no definite period of time. So what does it do?

i think what is not clear here is that you need standard membership level available. in order for the registration process to be sucessful, there has to be an appointment of a membership level to be written to in the database based on the MemberID.

you can set from the admin panel settings membership settings all actions off. though they would be standard member, they would not have access to the sites functions without upgrading to a paid membership level. the record that is created upon registration would then be updated in the database giving them a new SYS_ACL, and reassigning the membership level of access to that specific level you have setup from your admin panel

so the site wouldnt be free per se' though registration would be free, and in order to register, there has to be a membership level assignment.

hope that makes a little more sense. you need to leave standard accessible. then create your paid membership levels.
