Changes being ignored

Hi, is there any reason to explain why changes I make in the admin panel are being ignored and not completed? I've tried to remove the DOB option from my profile pages because it doesn't change the month and it won't go inactive when I request, I've also tried to make the 'headline' tag inactive but it still appears on the profile page and also when I make a group public it shows as private on the homepage?

When these changes are made there doesn't appear to be a 'save' button on that page of the admin panel available... another bug?

For a finished retail version this Dolphin7 has a lot of bugs and after a week of fiddling with it I'm having doubts about buying a licence to be honest...

Just a sujestion but have you both tried clearing all cach after doing the changes.

You maybe have but thought I would ask, I also think that the hedline is a wast of space and quite pointless so will be removing this as well.

when clearing all the cach it is somtimes also needed to go in via FTP and manualy delete everything in the cach folder

also consider your browser. i think there are some glitches with chrome, and we all know there are issues with IE. use FireFox when managing your admin section.

on the DOB, that is actually a required field on join, and as far as i know, that date picker does work. there is a method in which it has to be used, but it does work

i think you choose the year, the month and then click on the date of the month.

DOB is required AKAIK, though its not required to display publically, but it is a required field on join in order for the profile to be activated.

Thanks for the responses. I just noticed that the DOB field had been removed from the join page rather than the edit profile page so that explains why I thought my changes weren't working.

I just checked on the join page though and still you cannot select the month and when you click a date it takes me back to the main page, which is weird.

I've wasted a week fiddling with this now and I'm going to go and try another companies product. I wasted a week last week fiddling with Jomsocial so I wouldn't recommend that either.

It's a shame as I really liked the facebook module for Dolphin but little things like people not being able to input their DOB wil just make my organisation appear unprofessional.

It was nice though that I was able to install and try Dolphin without paying any money. With Jomsocial I had to pay then when I wasn't happy I had to request a refund, which took 5 days to clear back through Paypal.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and try to help me, it really was appreciated. Laughing

I am pretty sure the datepicker works, and the situation you are face is relative to some change that has been made. I will install on a test site to confirm. Most issues with dolphin that new users face are most times indicative of non- experience. Dolphin is not for the weak at heart, and certainly takes more than a week to learn.
