Changing hostname from www to something else

Hi. I'd like to change the hostname to Dolphin from "www.example.com" to "somename.example.com" for a site already live on "www.example.com".

Apart from editing the Apache server config, what Dolphin config files (or anything else) are needed to make the Dolphin site continue to work under the new hostname?

Thanks.

I think:
Make Back-up
Download database

make sub user (directory is made automatically)  in your directadmin or cpanel

Add all files in the directory

change password and database name

Change password and database name in the config file so they are connected

Done...

But i can be wrong, i did it like this

In Dolphin you need to make appropriate changes in inc/header.inc.php file then clear cache/ and cache_public/ folder (leave only .htaccess file there)

Hi Alex. Thanks for that. I went ahead and did that and all went well.

Only problem now is the back end is asking me to register for a license, so the license I had in there is no longer accepted, so has changed the back end to trial.

I went to my online account and the license I was using has a "RESET" option. Should I reset it ?

Thanks but I seem to be having a weird problem ie. when I Register the license in the Dolphin admin, it still says trial even though the "My Licenses" area on the Boonex website shows the new domain is now registered to the license.

The Dolphin back end continues to say "trial" and prompts me to register.

Is there any cache or similar I need to clear? (I have cleared caches and rebooted server etc) or do I need to wait a certain time for items to update?

Thanks.

it maybe you have old free license, which now work the same was as unlicensed, please make sure that you have paid license.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
