Chat Room Games Mod?

hi

im looking for a mod that will allow people to play games (simple ones like poker) from within a chat room

does such a thing exist?

thanks

Not within dolphin chat... It can be done with 123flashchat but you would have to pay for the service.

Quote · 13 May 2012

123flashchat does have games and you can use the free module here in the market and set up and "extra" chat  option to compliment our default one.

This free module allows up to ten chatters, games, and video. (video can be done if your running your own chat server, max 10 users)

I like the fact that we have this option to add and extra chat room feature, lots of people like going there and the regular chat room.

thank you. i will look into that. definitely sounds promising

is it possible to run 2 separate chat servers at the same time (dolphin chat and 123flashchat)?

ok, so i looked into this. it's not really the ideal solution.

123flashchat offers games yes, but they're single player games (all but 2, and the 2 are ones i've never heard of). why would people want to play single player games when they're in a chat room? it defies logic to my way of thinking.

anyway, poker is NOT one of the 2 multiplayer games, and i did specifically mention it.

so thank you for the pointer, but it's far from what i need

any other ideas?

we raise rayzzzzz from where ever he has dissapeared to and convince him to create an option to allow admin to load in their own flash games..... I could then write my own games for chat...

I would like to see any game module on Dolphin let two members compete together in a chat room.

Even 3rd party modules, I would like to see these.

a little off topic from original post..sorry

IMO

there are only two Market modules I would suggest.

both of these modules use MochiMedia API allowing total hi score tracking and leaderboards.

One vendor is questionable ATM of this writing.

AndrewP http://www.boonex.com/m/Heyzap_games_integration don't let the 'heyzap" fool ya, it was removed..

 NEW! Inregration with mochimedia.com
* NEW! Integration with heyzap.com was hidden

The other module is by

Deartmedia http://www.boonex.com/m/Highscores_Games_Arcade_Mod_300_2010_06_01

the reason my customers like these two modules?

You can pick and choose the "type" of games to put on your site, who's going to look through 4,400 games?

You can tailor you games to match the site..

A mature site, only install the "Mature" themed games, a teen site, you can pick all teen games..

in the modules Admin section you have an "importer," this is a great tool. If you only want first person shooter games, then only pick them. Only want puzzles, same thing.

The options are endless!

another plus, at Mochi, you earn money on your games.

They offer leaderboard, premium, coin, and regular games.

Coin and premium games are money makers..

just sayin

 Nathan,

When you say write a game... is this from scratch? You would have to make so many..

Can you show an example of a game?

Newton.....

I use MMF II developer. It is a rapid prototype and development tool for all software, web and mobile applications and games. This is how it works.....

(1) Each application is a series of frames. you can have as many as you like and all frames can have as many layers as you like (for paralax scrolling etc).

(2) each frame can have huindreds of different objects with different properties - active objects, calculation objects, communication objects, system objects... the list and possibillity is endless..... You drop an object in the frame and load its graphics and animations (i use photoshop) very easy to do.

(3) assign properties to obects such as movements (many options) size, visabillity, flags, values, groups the list is endless again.

(4) assign conditions to bojects using a simple drag and drop editor - object a collides with object b then add 1 to score - if mouse is over icon 3 then change image to image 1. This sort of thing.

(5) export in ANY format provided you have the licence for that format. Stand alone installable file, Flash file, I-phone, java, I-pad... everything is avaliable.

The best bit is that this is ALL drag and drop. Its very simple and you can include languages such as lacewing, visual basic, c++. python and many others. It is remarkably simple and very fast to develop anything on... A game that should take 6 monhs can be done in a couple of weeks at most. All this is done with little to no coding whatsoever.

I use it to develop applications most of the time....

You can check it out on the clickteam website.

Hope it helps : )

Nathan,

I bought that program when you first mentioned long ago, I'm clueless right now how to use it! lol

What I was leaning more toward was how would you integrate the database and users into this?

Are you working on something now?

Does anyone know where I can obtain (via purchase, if necessary) a multiplayer poker swf game?

Quote · 17 May 2012

@newton,

There are several database query objects avaliable FREE for MMF that are capable of pulling information from any database. There are also sql objects.  At the moment i am way too tied up trying to sort out my site - seo - a bug in my charts - and a photo uploader problem.... but thats dolphin for ya lol..... and inbetween I am working on a video for someone....

I do know of MMF users that have made multi connection chat tools with it though, so the knowledge is out there... I have even seen multiplayer online games with  a messenger built in...... so it is possible but it would be a case of mugging that knowledge or paying for it.

I haver spoke to some users on the forum there and they are of the oppinion that it is easy to extract information from a database. Hopefully when my site is fixed i will be able to  spend some time looking at things.

if you need a link to all of the plugins let me know and i will dig it out... but there are hundreds of them

@Nathan, If you get a chance for those links that would be great. No rush. Thanks for the info. @dj2216, I have been looking through my swf's from a arcade script I no longer use, came with 1000 flash games. You best bet to find a game might be miniclip.com games. Have a good day Michael

1 plus to this module is since it is integrated with mochi games, when you set it all up and get your mochi user done.  You can log into their site, play a game, then click 1 button and add it to your site.

THAT is the part I like!  My game admin can add games to her hearts content!

Just an update about 123flashchat. Be VERY careful when dealing with them.

I (foolishly) gave them access to my database. They have since changed my admin password (I can view it in the cPanel), and have locked me out of my site

Currently working on getting back in....

I did. They were doing the integration for me, and changed my password directly in the database. I could see it via the cPanel. it was plain text (unencrypted)

All a big misunderstanding. Lack of communication. Chat installed, and I'm very happy with it.
