Chat forever loading

Hi All

Got v7 up and running and most stuff tested and working. Chat however refuses to work no matter what.

Before anybody suggests rms, it wont even work in txt mode, it just keeps loading. I suspect a permissions fault but have been playing around and can not get it to work. I have uninstalled in and reinstalled to no avail.

Any ideas anyone?

if it has been suggested about RMS and text chat is not loading, then please check on your flash app settings and make sure that the use RMS box is not ticked. can you shoot us a screenie on that?

No rms is not checked. Chat worked before i done a fresh install of v7 and now no matter what it will not load.

Any other ideas?

ok since i havent tried this yet, i would still strongly suggest removing it and reinstalling it? wanna give that a try and report back?

Already tried that a couple of times and still nothing.

Still think its a premission thing, but ive tried all different permissions and still nothing.

what are your perms on the /flash dir

and what are your perms on the files of the /flash dir

just checking now to see what you are hitting on?

The flash directory is 755 and the files under chat is 755. The files used to be 777 but i changed that to 755 as i couldnt get and uploaded sounds or videos to work until i changed to 755 so tried the same with chat.

At last finally solved the issue with the chat. This is for anybody that has the same issue and has gone through permission changes etc.

I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times to see if that made a difference. nothing worked. I then noticed that the unistall and reinstall seemed to work to quick. I checked via ftp if this files and directory were actually being deleted and they werent. I deleted the directory manually and then resintalled. Worked perfectly first time.

Hope this saves someone the MANY MANY hours i wasted trying to get it to work.
