Chinese invasion !!!!!!

Just the last few days, my sites have been invaded by Chinese spam accounts.

I have all the regular security settings turned on to block all accounts from China in DNS blocklist, URI DNS block, au, cn block but still am getting LOADS in the last few days.

Almost like theyve found a way round the regular Dolphin security.

Anyone else getting this???

I was having the same problem but it pretty much stopped after I installed AndrewP's new captcha mod.

I think I might ask him for some commission cause I keep telling everyone, but it did work for me.

Market nightmares keep me from going there; I've been burned too many times in the market.

No thanks..

That I can understand but it is of course up to you. I don't normally recommend mods but this one has certainly saved me a lot of time.

I do have Anton's IP Management installed to and that was effective to a point but the recent burst of bloody stupid dick-head spammers was doing my head in.

Of course they will eventually find a way around this one but for now it seems to be doing the trick. It will stop bots cause the old captcha is replaced with one that requires a more human touch, literally, in the form of a slider. Though AndrewP does say that other types of captchas are available.

I couldn't handle all the spammers so took a chance.........and it paid off for now at least.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do. Let us know what you find too cause it may be needed in the future.

Ok, found another f****** search the spammers have found to be common on all Dolphin sites.

google search "com m sites home"

I guess with any software with good page rank and listing are vulnerable to these spammers no matter the steps we try to take.
