Create a group without a country

I need to create a group, (actually many groups), without a country. Some groups certainly need a country. This field needs to be optional, and there needs to be the facility to have "No Country" or "" (an empty string) as the default. This should be settable somewhere obvious, like under Settings->Advanced_Settings->Default_Country (which does not work for groups).

The default, (which should be empty), is always Afghanistan (WTF?).

The most recent post I can find on this surely common problem is from a year ago, and still no solution in sight. How hard can this be?

try adding "N/A" to the Predefined values in Admin, Builders, Predefined values, Country List

However, I had forgotten to add in my original bug report that I have tried to use Admin, Builders -> Predefined values -> Country List to add an extra country:

  'AA', 'N/A'

  'AA', '__Anywhere'

  'AA', '_NoCountry'

  'AA', ''

  'AA', 'NA'

and so on and on, but not a single variation was accepted, and there were no error messages either. The page just reloaded when I hit "Save". I'm not sure how many create-group-with-default-and-optional-country bugs that is in the one report now :-)

Sigh...

dont forget to clear all of your caches when making those changes. I made the change on mine, and it did not put it at the bottom of the list, it was in the middle, so try checking the whole list  - below is a screenshot of mine. Plus, also make a language key value for _NA (or whatever you used)

I hear you, and I have cleared my caches, and I have created a new entry in the countries listing. And each time I click "Save", the list comes back exactly as it was prior to my changes, even after a cache refresh, and a reload. This looks like the right place to create an extra "blank" country, but 7.1 is NOT accepting my changes.

It maybe a bug in earlier versions of Dolphin 7.1, try to do it when site is displayed using English language, or upgrade to the latest version.

Yes, I am using the English language.

Upgrading to 7.1.1 would mean putting up with the highly objectionable new avert button at the top of the screen which is unnacceptable at this time :-)
