Customizing Join page

Could someone please help me with this.  I'd like for a user when they first click on join to have very little to have to fill out.  The less info they have to submit the better.  After they hit submit, I'd like them to be directed to a page that requires them then to fill in more info.  Is this possible?  Thanks

Yes it's possible. First in Admin panel under "Builder->Profile fields" you have the option to "hide" / remove the fields you don't want during the Join. and later they can go to the account and fill the rest. Here also you can control what fields they need to fill under the Admin control panel as above.

Would this screw up the data fields in the database that were created from the first join page?

It shouldn't as long you manage through the admin Admin
