D7.03 Upgrade

Okay so everything in this upgrade is going nice and smooth. I am at the part were I am to "Recompile Orca Forum language file from admin panel -> Modules -> Orca Forum -> Manage Forum". Yet when I click on the Orca Forum link, I get a blank page.I can not seem to get to the Manage Forum page. I thought it was the custom template I was using, so I changed it back to the UNI template, but still get a blank page when I try to finish this step of the upgrade. Now it is probably something simple, and I have not used the forums yet, but would like to get this working and let site use them... Any ideas?

Maybe try clearing the cache after changing template? just a thought

Yes I tried that as well, yet I still get nothing. Just wondering if I should finish the upgrade or wait and hope someone answers soon, as my site is now at this moment down.

There is a step in there that requires that all of the compiled _en language folders for the forums be removed. Just wondering if you have done that.

And you will want to set the UNI template as default in admin before doing anything with the forums.

No sorry didn't, but just figured it out myself..lol I uninstalled it and it said I could not do that. So I recompiled the Orca Forum only again, and now everything is working just fine. Thanks for the heads up though and quick response. I had not gotten to the part of removing the folders yet as I was worried that I needed to do this step first. Now I will finish the upgrade and remove folders.

Okay at this step of the upgrade, I do not have these files   (en) (base_en) (uni_en)  I have folders named base and uni, but that is it. Now what? Just continue with the upgrade?

Okay I finished the upgrade, and now I have a blank page for forums again..ughhh this is irritating Deno it seems to be the template I bought from you. I will go check out your site for info to see why this is happening. If I remember right, it was a real easy fix..

@LightWolf, Make a copy of your Uni folder in your /modules/boonex/forum/layout folder and rename it to your template name. Once you have done that go into that folder and edit the params.php and change the 3 place where it says uni to your template name.That should fix your problem.

Then try to recompile the language again.

Which template?

I have been updating my mods. The Basic Black template was just updated a couple of hours ago. The rest of my templates has not been yet.

With the major change in the forums i imagine pretty much every template developer will have to release updates to their templates.

I don't know how to explain this but the old template called skin004(basic black), I downloaded months ago from the market marked for 7.0.0 which  was free at the time, has been installed on my test server, and the forums never worked, because of the old template.

now since the update to 7.0.3 today. The skin or template now works in the forums, actually several modules did not work, now they all do.

Is this new new cache features? try the site, change the template and look at the forums...

But Can anyone tell me why when I migrate from my now site to a fresh install, I do not get the avatars or photos? I was going to just do a fresh install and I have to re-install the sql files needed to get the avatars to appear and the blogs,polls,photos. Right now I can not seem to get the photos to work. With avatars I had to hand import the images folder and sql file. The photos show the pic boxes and photo names in the admin section, but no photos in them. When I click on the photo link on main page it shows no photos on user side even though it says they are there.

I can't think of any other sql file to replace to bring photos back.

I feel so sorry for all you who have heavy modded sites. This has got to be a pain in the arse to you as mine has no new mods and is a pain to be..

Okay I got the photos to show in the admin section, and tried to post them as featured, but still nothing shows up on the user side.

I finally finished the upgrade and not all went well, so I backed up all my sql files,cleaned out old site,installed new Dolphin and placed old sql files back in (they were upgraded before the move) and now..wohoooo all is good!
