Why does the D7 final download have the 'upgrade' folder?
Why does the D7 final download have the 'upgrade' folder? There are none so blind as those that will not see. |
It contains all of the upgrades for the rc releases. It allows those still running a RC version to upgrade it. https://www.deanbassett.com |
So we can upgrade back to 6.1.6 from 7.0. I know, sounds a little strange, but it does do that, or at least offer you the chance to. It's only a matter of time before some idiot tries it out and ends up sending their site backwards.
Edit: Scratch that. I was thinking of the Upgrade Link in the Admin Dashboard. |
I think it has something to do with upgrading. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |

I was a easy question. I did not have to burn any brain cells trying to find a answer. https://www.deanbassett.com |
Of that I am sure. But why put it in with D7, do you need to upgrade the mysql over and above the install updates?
Failing that, the upgrade files should be a seperate download.
I think it has something to do with upgrading.

I keep asking them to provide a separate upgrade package, instead of having to unnecessarily overwriting 4,998 files. I doubt if they'll do it though. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
This is the way boonex choose to do it. Fresh install, or upgrade, in same package. https://www.deanbassett.com |
At this point, it doesn't matter to me if they don't provide just the changed files... I've gotten pretty adept at extracting them from the distribution package. There was only 3-4 changed files from RC5 - Final, so I wasn't about to overwrite 5,000 file just for the hell of it. Cheers guy's. I know the answer was fairly obvious, but you can never be sure. Better to ask than get it wrong. There are none so blind as those that will not see. |
