DOLPHIN UNSECURE

hi,

dolphin is unsecure!!

becouse i see in my logs.. many failed ftp logins.. so someone is trying to use my ftp  and its on a new host with clean dolphin

So you are saying that Dolphin is unsecure because someone is attempting to FTP into your webhost? Wow, that's amazing. Especially since Dolphin has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with you FTP account, web hosting, type of computer you have, etc..

You really need to understand what is happening before putting the blame on Dolphin. That would be like me saying that my microwave is broken because the ice maker in the freezer is not making ice.

failed ftp logins has nothing to do with dolphin.  That means someone is trying to ftp into your server for whatever reason.

This could be due to a variety of reasons, brute forceattack, mistaken ip, you were given someone else's old ip and the old site owner is trying to get in, someone trying to get into the old server; there are a number of reasons for this log.

To secure yourself make sure you have a nice long alpha numeric password, disable anonyomus ftp access, and outright ban the ip thats trying to come in.  It doesn't matter if you had dolphin, or nothing on that server, you would still have the ftp fails.

this is 2nd time  on 2 new hosts  with 2 new passwords.. on 2 different computers.. and u telling me thats my problem? ur crazy

Ok, I will call you on this one, since you did not read this:

It appears that it is getting in via FTP details - obtained by a virus/malware on your computer.

Again, nothing to do with the Dolphin Software itself.

So, with that being said, You can have a million different hosts, passwords, or whatever.. If the problem is on your computer then it doesnt matter. But I'm sure its not possible on YOUR computer right?

Maybe I shouldn't be using so much sarcasm here, but you need to understand what going on before you make accusations. Virus', Keyloggers, and other Malware are not reasons to call Software unsecure. For example, If I had a keylogger on your computer and stole your login information to log into your bank account, would you blame your bank for having "unsecure" software?

My girlfriend left me and my dog died.  This is Dolphin's fault!

Get yourself a new antivirus, trojan remover, and clean your system.

How would dolphin know what your ftp or ftp username or password?

menno21: Maybe it's the language barrier but you have misunderstood that post... you are going to have people trying to log into your ftp no matter what software you use or server you have, that is part of the internet. It is all automated and you shouldn't take it personally.

Cal: You know that could be true.. Dolphin is so time consuming you might forget to feed the dog or pay attention to the girlfriend
