Database Error At Main Page Join Button Is Clicked

first off, your left and right side ads, cover your content on all my browsers...

I think I would look at your memory configurations, check the Dolphin system memory requirements against your server settings...

Don't try deleting your extra posts yourself. It won't get rid of the extra topics. And the only one you deleted was the one that had a reply.

So first off. Your content requires i stretch my browser to the full width of my 1440 widescreen display to see the content because of your side ads. Poor design.

Second. When i click the join button, it loads the join page just fine. I don't see an error.

Hi Newton27,

Hmm that's strange...I don't see that and I have here at home 2 laptops (wide screen) and 1 desktop computer (wide screen).  I only saw that when I was using my Nexus One Google Phone but I went back to the site later on the phone and it looked good to me. Also how do I  check the Dolphin system memory requirements against my host server settings?  My host already had dolpin installed. (Arvixe).

Also how do I fix the banners to not cover the content?

Thank you,

Jeff

Hi,

My apologies I was trying to post that message and the browser was not responding so I though it did not post. That is why so many same posts.

As far as my banners are concerned I did not design anything just added them to the banner manager that comes with dolphin.  So are we saying they don't display the side banners correctly?  And if not what is the fix?  Seems I never had all these problems with older versions of dolphin and I have been using the software on and off since 2005. By the way my laptops and desktop screens adjust to 1600X900 so that is why I probably don't see the overlap.  But even at work 800X600 screen does not show banners overlapping content.

Thank you,

Jeff

I suggest you "search" these forums for your answers.. there here.

You are right and that is why this is my favorite quote:  "Unless you try to do something other than what you have already mastered, you will never grow...." but no one has answered my question so how can I learn....lol back at ya.......and I have searched for answers to my questions.  Not found so that is WHY I'M ASKING.....and so I will ask again.  Why do the banners which are supposed to be managed by the banner management that came with dolphin cover the content is there a fix or a module that I can purchase to place banners correctly and where I want them to display?

Can anyone else help with this.............since my questions seem to be a "burden" to some people..........

Thanks for any help and time, it is much appreciated..............

Here are some banner tips.  I have tried them with mixed results, so if they work please post results.

The Dolphin Banners tool has settings for left and right banners where you can make adjustments for Horizontal and Vertical shift.  These may require a lot of testing to get right.  They seem to work differently in FF and IE in terms of how the browser sets horizontal placement.  That effects how banners overlap content.

The secret to planning out a page so everything fits in the site width may be to add (in Page Builder) blank left or right columns on the page where you want the banners to appear (they will need at least one active block to register), and then adjust the width of the content columns accordingly.  For instance, say your page is 1000px currently (a common and highly usable width) with 2 content columns and you want a 150px banner on the left.  Try adding a 160px column on the left, with a single HTML block that says something like " Visit Our Sponsors" and adjust the center and right columns to fit.  Now add your banner on the left and play with the V & H shift till it looks right.

The main problem with Dolphin Banners is that THEY APPEAR ON ALL SITE PAGES, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO ADD A LEFT COLUMM TO ALL OF THEM.  Check to see if there is a module that can set page columns site-wide.  (3rd party banner programs might be considerably more flexible, but I don't know how they work with Dolphin.)

Hope this helps.

Someday, Someway.
