Database Language Translations

Hi people:

We make translations for standard dolphin modules. That's ok. Problem is: there are a lot of customers requesting me to translate all the database contents (i.e. categories etc) but I'm not sure about the implications with dolphin functionalties. Can someone explain if there is some risk in doing that or we can do it safely without any problems with Dolphin "internals" (programming etc) ?

Thanks in Advance,

Papik

You can't translate the categories and tags here!

PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first

Gonna try to clarify this situation. Our customer is sitting in front of his/her pc happy to find a good social product (D7). He/She understand all the site is for his/her community, let say he/she is in Brazil, talking portuguese. All the dolphin modules are in portuguese. Wonderful. he/she decides to register in the site and then suddenly he/she realized a lot of options are in english...why?

The question for me (  as a user and as a Dolphin modules translator at the same time) is: Will we keeping the Dolphin Software half in the user language half in english? or we goona move little forward and create a real international software with all the translation in the user mother tongue? ...

That's what a lot of customers are requesting me and I can't denny will be a sensible thing to do ...

Thanks

Any other reply on this ?

Can we (the translators) translate the categories, email templates etc in other languages?

and also Is there a way to keep several languages inside the database for these data?

That is the question that some customers are asking us too often so we need to know about it...

Some techie Boonex guy there please?

Thanks in Advance,

Papik
